Ki & Ka 2

Story

Since Ki is one of the most popular food bloggers on social media, she keeps on searching new types of food-related content on her blog and social media. She plans her content in advance, has a huge follower base and had done collabs with various brands and resturants. 

One day while looking into the insights, she found that her followers have reduced over the past few months. There is a dip in reach, likes and comments. Some videos even had negative comments saying her content is boring and she should try something new. She tries to find new ideas online looking though other food bloggers, connecting to some newly-opened resturants, generating ideas though AI but none of them seem to work.

One day while talking to her friends over discord, she shared her problem. Her friends suggested her to take a break and go on a girls trip. She agrees right at that moment. Next morning, she pack her bags  and catch the flight.

On the other hand Ka who had joined his family business in his teenage, is struggling to keep his sweet shop running. Despite of so many years of hard work and unique cooking style, ka has only a few months of funds left. His entire family depends on him as he is the eldest son. He could not share this set-back with his family as they look up to him with hopes. One fine evening while sitting at a chai ki tapri with his only friend (who is a tour guide), he shares his problem. His friend gave him two options, one is to take a working capital loan or participate in a his inter-city cooking competition held by the state government to promote authentic desi flavors. The contest was announced with a sum of 10 lakh ruppee to be given to the winner.

Ki is on a bagpack trip to India with 2 of her best friends. On their pursuit of finding authentic Indian street food, they planned to travel various cities starting from Delhi – Lucknow – Varanasi – Orchha and then came to Indore. Little did she know that this city was going to change her entire life. Gullu (Ka’s best friend) was their tour guide for Indore. Ki was blown away with India’s street food culture, got just the right kind of content she needed for her followers. She got to interact with so many street food vendors, went for spice trail, got to learn some techniques herself. People found her content fresh and relatable, her social media gained the momentum again. Her follower count increased by 10k within a week.

On the day of the cooking competition (name can be updated/switched with real one) Gullu took the girls to venue. They were surprised to see such types of dishes, cooking techniques, ingredients and all. Ki wanted to capture as much as possible. While shooting, her eyes got stuck at Ka who was making his Bhutte ki Kees (could be changed). The dish his family carried from generations.
She was mesmerized with his cooking style. Gullu introduced both of them and there was instant connect. Both of them said hi and smiled at each other generously. Ki asked Ka if she could capture his cooking style. Ka was happy and invited them for breakfast at his shop next morning. While the competition was still on, Ka impressed people and judges.

It was now the time to announce the winner. Ka was given the third price along with a trophy and cash prize of 2 lakh ruppee. Ka was disheartened but atleas got some amount to keep his shop running.

Next morning as promised, Gullu took the girls to Ka’s shop for breakfast. The very first bite of poha gave ki an Idea. while having breakfast, ka interacted with ki and her friends. Told his story, Ki, after listening his story, decided to help him. She asked him if he would like to display his shop on social media. He agreed. That very evening, Ki came to his shop and captured his video(short video). Both kept on smiling at each other but both of them were very focused on their work. Different worlds came together with a single passion for food. Ki went home, uploaded the video. Within 1 hour the video went viral and got 10 lakh views.

Next morning, Ka’s shop was flooded with customer, and he got some catering assignments. Ka thanked Ki and offered her some money as a token of acknowledgement. Ki refused to take the money but asked if she could capture some of those weddings.

Ka’s catering business began to popularize. Ki came to the wedding in western clothes as didn’t knew how to style and carry ehtnic wear. Ki started capturing the wedding food. While shooting, her phone rang. It was her mom saying she and Ki’s dad have decided to seperate. Ki was devastated. Tears rolled down her eyes, when Ka saw this, he asked her. She said nothing and ran crying. Ka couldn’t understand her behavior.

That night Ki and ka both could not sleep, ki was thinking of her parents while ka was thinking of ki and what could make her so sad. Next morning Ka made her favorite poha and when early morning to meet her. Doorbell opened and Ki’s friend opened the door. She told him Ki cried the entire night and what was the matter.


Ka went to her, listened about her family and asked her to get up and get ready. He took her to a temple and told her not to loose hope as God is watching. She was still upset. He then took her to meet his family. He told his mother what happened to her family. Her mother kept her hand on Ki’s head to bless her. Ki had an outburst. She hugged her and his mother took Ki with her to talk to her privately. They talked for hours and Ka’s mother gifted Ki her favorite saree and helped her to wear it. Ki wore it and when Ka saw her, he was sure that she was the one.

That evening Ki thanked Ka for everything and how she loved his family. She wanted to stay back for some more days. There was a DM in her inbox. It was from the one of the biggest wedding planners of the country inviting both them for a meeting Udaipur.

Both of them went to Udaipur to meet the team. They saw the viral videos and asked Ka if he could cater 1000 people at once. Ka took out some sweets and snacks and game them to taste. They loved the taste and gave him the menu. Ka was on cloud nine. Also asked if Ki could me some videos for social media. She agreed. The wedding was to held next month. They had shortage of time, needed more resources to plan, needed timely approvals and much more.

For a month both of them worked separately guiding their team and planning ahead. But something was missing. They missed each other. When Ki contacted, Ka was busy and when Ka contacted, Ki was busy.

Option 1

Both of them were invited to travel with the family and close friends from Delhi to Udaipur in The Palace of wheels. The clients wanted them to interact with those guests and understand their requirements, taste and help them with the digital space.

While travelling, Ki got interesting content for her blog and social media while Ka was amazed to see the cuisine. While working, they took time to meet in breaks. Ki helped him with the dining etiquettes and Ka helped him to understand the values of joint family.

Option 2

After a month, they boarded flight together. Both of them sat together, Ki started shouting at Ka where was he the entire month, she called him, texted him but was no reply. Ka listened to her calmly and when she was done shouting, he hold her hands and looked into her eyes. He was convinced that she also felt the same way.

Climax

Both of them reached the venue The Oberoi Udaivilas. (could be updated). Ki was upset as her mom and dad were calling her but she didn’t pick their call. She said nothing and straightaway she went to her room. Ka saw her upset and was clueless as to how to cheer her up.

He was about to call her when both of their teams came up for the gig. It was already afternoon and the sangeet was about to start. Ka straight went to the kitchen and started his work.

Here Ki felt alone and cried. Ka was aware about this. He could’t reach out to her but made her favorite poha and sent it to her room with a note. Whatever happens, I am always there…..

Coctail party

Ki read the note and before her tears could stop rolling out her eyes, she smiled. She had that poha and got ready for the sangeet ceremony. They both worked hard and did their work. People loved the food and Ki had installed pic section, picture booth and many other things.

After the function, all the guest went to their rooms, the staff had dinner while both Ki and Ka were dedicately wrapping up their work. There was no food left for them, Ka had some snacks with him. Both of them ate it and talked for sometime.KI told her about her parents and how they happy they were. She was really missing them. Both of them said good night.

That night Ka made a plan. He connected with Ki’s parents over social media. Told them about how Ki, how she’s been doing, what project they got and then asked them if they could come to India to see her. They were convinced they Ka was just the right guy for their daughter and both of them them should give another chance to their own relationship for their own daughter’s happiness.

Mehendi and Sangeet

Ki became friends with the bride and groom. She was loving Indian weddings, the colors, the people, all the ceremonies but one thing that remained same was Ka. Ka dedicately did his work and kept on interacting with the guest and took their feedback.

Ki was looking at the ladies who were enjoying mehendi. She remembered her mother putting mehendi tattoo on special occasions. Ka her getting upset and went to her. He took her to one of the mehendi artist and selected a nice design for Ki. Mehendi is much more just design here, it’s our tradition. Ka asked him if the jalebi artist could also make mehendi design, he took her hand and make a very simple design. She had no words for it, she just smiled. Ka’s staff called him for an emergency.

One of the guests were head chef at a 5 star restrant in LA and he objected about the ingredients used. Ka tried to calm him down and explained him about his way of cooking but that chef wasn’t convinced enough. Ki took the charge, she explained him about Ka’s cooking techniques and ingredients and how unique it was. She showed him her videos. He calmed down a bit and asked Ka if he could learn a dish from him. Ka was more than happy to hear this. He said after the function, they both could connect.
